2012 Global Peace Index Released

Global Peace IndexThe Global Peace Index (GPI), developed by the Institute for Economics and Peace, in conjunction with the Economist Intelligence unit, has just released their 2012 report.

The GPI is intended to spark conversation around the factors that sustain peace and prevent violence. By systematically studying the dynamics that contribute to peacefulness (defined as an absence of violence) and those that detract from it, over an extended period of time, the Global Peace Index hopes to contribute to a more developed understanding of how peace can be achieved and to inspire others to take further steps in driving peace. Learn more about the GPI by reading the online report. It features an interactive map that allows you to view where each country ranks overall and according to each of the 23 indicators that have been used to measure peacefulness.
